Richard Ross, Deputy Director
Compliance Division

Richard Ross was appointed as Deputy Director of the Compliance Division on August 16, 2006. Previously, he served Governor Schwarzenegger as Chief of the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Ross also served as an Assistant Team Leader for Governor Schwarzenegger's California Performance Review Committee and participated in the independent review panel that focused on the Youth and Adult Correctional Agency. Other State service includes the California Department of Insurance, where Mr. Ross served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Fraud and Investigations Branch. Prior to state service he completed a federal career with the FBI as Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in the Eastern District of California, headquartered in Sacramento. Ross is an attorney and member of the Iowa Bar.
