William Liu was reappointed to the California Gambling Control Commission by Governor Gavin Newsom on December 27, 2024 where he has served since 2021.
Liu was a member of the Gaming Policy Advisory Committee for the California Gambling Control Commission from 2017 to 2020. He was Chief Fiscal Officer for the California Department of Technology from 2009 to 2015, Branch Chief of Medi-Cal Hospital/Uninsured Care Demonstration Project for the California Department of Health Services from 2006 to 2009 and Audit Manager for the California Earthquake Authority from 1997 to 2006. Liu is currently the Treasurer for the Asian Pacific State Employees Association Foundation since 2014. Liu earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Hayward and an Associate of Arts degree from Chabot College.
