GAMBLING CONTROL ACT / CARDROOMS

AB 1082 (Low, Chapter 122, Statutes of 2020) Gambling: Gambling Control Act.

This bill, for purposes of the Gambling Control Act, removes from the definition of applicant, a person who is about to apply for a state gambling license, or other specified licenses, permits, or approvals.


SB 1371 (Committee on Judiciary, Chapter 1371, Statutes of 2020) Maintenance of the codes.

This bill makes nonsubstantive changes in various provisions of law, including the Gambling Control Act, to effectuate the recommendations made by the Legislative Counsel to the Legislature.

 

TRIBAL

SB 869 (Dodd, Chapter 171, Statutes of 2020) Tribal gaming: compact ratification.

This bill ratifies the tribal-state gaming compacts entered into between the State of California and the following Indian tribes: the Ione Band of Miwok Indians, the Mooretown Rancheria of Maidu Indians of California, the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation, and the Tule River Indian Tribe of California. The bill provides that, in deference to tribal sovereignty, certain actions related to these compacts and amended compacts are not projects for purposes of the California Environmental Quality Act.
